Hello, Can you be a little more specific and add tags to your question, so it is easier to access in the user forum? Is your “oxidation ditch” part of a drinking-water network, a wastewater system, or other installation?
Hi, In terms of a generic answer to your question, there are 3 factors to take into account: input flow total volume of the operation surface area or height of the operation With that information, you get: velocity (m/h) = flow rate (m3/h) / surface area (m2) or velocity (m/h) = flow rate (m3/h) / (volume (m3) / height (m)) This will give you the water speed in an existing structure. If you want to measure the size of the operation, you perform the reverse calculation. If your question is about how to size an oxidation ditch (depending the parameter) you will have to be more specific. Hope that at least gives you an idea.
