What are your thoughts about comminutors?

They help avoid messy jobs. I think that in cold climates they can be very helpful.
They're really just grinders. Personally I would say they're a good addition since we're seeing a lot of bigger items come through our systems as of late. I mean – people are flushing t-shirts down the toilet these days. You need to do something about that and comminutors can be a real equipment saver. I like to say it's our version of a meat grinder. But seriously – a good grinder can be a real life saver if it's used right. In my experience, they just aren't used the way they should be. It's often looked at as a first line of defense instead of the last line of defense. Large debris can be screened out instead of ground up and although that cleaning process is admittedly frustrating, it is also pretty effective.
