What are the methods of water desalination you are using?

Oil rich countries tend to not be as concerned with burning so much fuel to desalinate water through the process of distillation, but for most, industrial grade reverse osmosis processing is becoming the key player. As time goes on we find more ways to increase efficiency of this process, but I believe we will stick with some sort of reverse osmosis process.
Hello, The most frequently used technique is reverse osmosis on semi-permeable membranes. Veolia has some interesting interactive pages on their website. http://www.veoliawatertechnologies.com/en/desalination
Hello, There a several possible methods (from laboratory to industrial processes): distillation, reverse osmosis, or electrodialysis Desalination of water using current technologies can be broadly divided into two categories, depending on the principle applied: -Thermal processes, which involve first a freezing phase and then distillation -Membrane-based processes such as reverse osmosis and electrodialysis.
