Whereabouts are you ?
Site survey for location? A full scale septic system survey can be costly. Does the owner have any history on the system? pumping records? Repair records? You could then reach out to the pumper for any input they may have. There should also be State, County or City/Township records some where identifying are and size of system. Be cautious with anything that has no records and have been grandfathered. Water records should be located t some government agency including well drilling records such as date, depth, etc.. Are you asking about quality? Samples can be taken and sent in to be analyzed. Highly recommended in an agricultural area. Location? If location it should be traceable through a metal detector. Systems that old are at least should be steel or galvanized pipe.
The county or health dept should have records of your septic system and well.
