Where is the smell coming from? your tap?
yes it come from tap
It could be due to a number of factors. This infographic is quite neat and will help you understand where the smell could come from:
Funny story. Had a customer who kept complaining that his first drink from the tap tasted awful. After that it would be fine. I looked out his window and noticed his hose right outside. Went outside and the faucet was on filling the hose under pressure. Turned off the hose faucet and asked him to try it again. Problem solved. The backpressure from the hose sent "hose water" into the kitchen faucet, contaminating it. Another business complained about nasty water in the breakroom. The man would open both faucets to get water for coffee, etc.I checked it out and the cold water was fine. However the hot water tasted nasty. An old Hot water tank had a lot of debris built up over time and needed to be replaced, and drained periodically. In one of my older residences had galvanized pipe which was corroded. No pressure, discolored water. Replaced it with PVC and was amazed at my water quality after that. Wasn't that hard to do as the old pipe fell apart in my hands. It was that bad.
