VEGAPULS 69 sensor for bulk solids - VEGA
I had the opportunity to see this device in action under various conditions and to measure different products: flour, lime, cement, milk powder, wood pellets, plastic pellets, and even expanded polystyrene beads.
All users are happy, both with the ease of installation and the results. For some users this was a first-time solution, while others boosted the reliability of their installations and were able to go without maintenance operations.
Recently, I saw this unit on a borehole at more than 80 m in depth. The operator wanted to eliminate maintenance and piezometer checks, onerous operations given the length of the sensor’s cable—no more cable to unroll, no submerged sensors, so no risk of fouling.
Used as a level sensor in a lift station with a significant drawdown, the equipment proves very reliable (no echo loss/mist or drizzle).
However on bulk lime, I need to be convinced. For me nothing beats a scale at the base of the silo. But in a lime slurry system, we obtained very reliable results.
I am measuring the height of an industrial effluent (water + oil) in open tanks, and it works very well at the moment.
