Used oil well drill pipe not safe for water wells
The owner is right and there is some rules to follow too if you don't want to contaminate the ground water, it is more than just drilling an hole.
Hydrogen is a problem in most steels because it is highly mobile in atomic form and can both diffuse through and be transported by the movements of dislocations
There's no such thing as 2 7/8" drill pipe. There's 2 7/8" EUE tubing, which is production tubing and not designed to drill. H2S embrittles steel. if it was exposed to H2S, it's scrap metal, trust me on that one.
