Are you talking about a thermal inversion in a drinking water reservoir?
Yes, it is a storage tank for a small public drinking water system which we have had trouble with when a thermal inversion happens.
If you have a pumpng system maybe you can temporarily do a small by pass line and recirculate water to create current in the tank. Before doing that make sure the tank is clean so you won't mix sediment in your water.
Tank is clean. The problem is that water can only enter and leave the tank through the same 6" pipe in the bottom of the tank.
Have you tried adjusting your turn-over rate, so that the water is turned over quicker and therefor allow to mix a bit better?
