Should we use ductile for deep sewer pipe or under streams crossings ?

Pipe materials often depend on a few factors such as: your location (is concrete pipe available as a third option); method of installation such as open-cut, directional drill, jack and bore, etc; is corrosion resistance needed; and what is the expected soil loading above the pipe.
Hello, We recommend cast iron pipes that are resistant to load flattening and are not bendable. To achieve a water-tight seal, they can be interlocked.
My first choice always goes with HDPE. Just does not rust. Plastic pipe are used effectively for well over 75 years. When you talk about streams crossings, some military communication cables were installed in the Atlantic Ocean and are still in use since World War 2. Deep sewers, if it is less than 40 ft. of cover over the crown of the pipe, YES!
