Should I use black water chemical in the gray water tank?
I always use sanitation chemical in the black water tank after flushing and emptying. Of course I empty the gray water tank last. I've been pouring a little of the same chemical plus water into the empty gray water tank after emptying. Is that advisable? Or is the gray water tank not suites for that? Thanks! Wayne
There is little or no value to the chemical use in the black water tank and gray water tank. Some of those chemicals contain strong stuff that will affect the systems you dump into andleading to treatment problem.
If you use the RV regularly and don't "store" black & gray water in the waste tanks when not in use, there is simply no need for chemicals in the tanks.
You can utilize a garden hose extension called an RV holding tank rinser if you want to clean your tanks without damaging the environment.
Thanks so much. I was concerned that the gray water tank might become sludgy after a while with sediment buildup.
