Need some help with a question… are there any benefits to installing a flowmeter at the main air connection? If so, what would they be?

Well… if you’re installing a meter, the goal should be to measure something. So if you install a flowmeter at your main air connection, you’ll be able to gather consumption rate information. You could also have volumetric consumption provided to you. But let’s go a little deeper than that. The fact is that in our industry, we must be proactive if we want to be innovative, lower costs, and keep things flowing in the right away. This is one of those steps that can be taken to be more proactive. How? So let’s say you install the flowmeter. You know that everything is working the way that it should. The readings that you get can become your baseline. That means when you see changes occur, you know that there is something going on that shouldn’t be going on. Let’s say you see an increase in your consumption rates. You might have cracked tubing, a kinked hose, a failing seal – plenty of potential issues. You catch the reading early, so you investigate and diagnose the problem early, and that helps you repair the problem early. Hope you get an A on your assignment.
