Getting hired on when just starting
Changing careers requires choices.
The easiest way is to explain your project to an operator. It may be possible to work and pass the LIT certificate at the same time.
It depend on the state you plan to work in. As an example in Ontario you can become and OIT (Operator in training) if:
you have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
pass the OIT exam
apply for a OIT licence
Then with that license you can work in a plant and get 1 year experience and apply to get your class one as an operator.
It is different from one state to the other.
If you tell us which state you are from maybe we can find the reference to help you.
