Do you have interesting feedback on use of micronized lime added upstream of a centrifuge?
It has advantages and disadvantages depending on the stage at which the lime is introduced.
If the injection point is far from the centrifuge (limed sludge conveyed over long distance), then the pipes can clog.
If the injection point is closer, then here is my 2 cents: —> mfewer problems with dosing, clogging, (scroll and mixer), no issues with smoke (for communities sensitive to these problems). Limed sludge seems more homogenous and has a better consistency. Dryness percentages are impressive.
Nevertheless, an acid wash will be necessary (fouling does occur) : ~1/yr .
Regarding the Calci-flo, to make it worthwhile I think it would require targeted concentrations of fairly homogenous thickened sludge. It might also mean some reorganizing of the facility to include an on-site mixing tank.
