Do the treatment plant recycle our shower and drinking water from our waste water?
//= $frontData["question_content"] ?>
Recently my husband was at a waste plant in a county building a wall and found out from a worker this is how they recycle water. And they use lye to clean it. Do anyone else have any info on this situation?
No they do not. Not cost effective. The technology they are using is pre 1950s. this is not proper waste water cleaning. Rule #1 never ever use any form of chlorine. Nature has been cleaning water for 4.5 billion years with zero waste. Many educated countries that do not view profit as a primary social goal have discontinued all chlorine in favor of microbes. Current cost is $33 per 300,000 gallon tank. zero waste, and can be returned to city drinking water source. 21st century technology. Hope they catch on.
