In order to compare flow meters, I wanted to set up a bubbler in tandem with a venturi flume at the inlet of a wastewater treatment plant. I am concerned about possible clogging and was wondering if you have any feedback, please?
Yes, you can use this approach. The comparison can be made during a two-hour period. However, you do have to watch out for any fibrous material or wet wipes which will alter the pressure needed to force the bubbles out of the line, thereby distorting the measurement.
We use this type of flow meter with our portable sampler and have had no problems over a 24-hour period on a small wastewater treatment facility or in a lagoon.
