Stale air scrubbers and carbon monoxide
We measure the presence of carbon monoxide (120 ppm) at inflow of a wet scrubber. The tower mainly processes stale air from pretreatment of the effluent from a brewery. I wonder about the origin of the gas because no combustion takes place in the operation. Can a chemical reaction produce CO?
